هانتاویریدا نام خانواده ای از ویروس‌ها در راستهٔ ویروس‌های بانیا[۱] است. این نامگذاری از روی نام رود هانتان در کره جنوبی، جایی که نخستین بار یکی از گونه‌های آن شیوع پیدا کرد، انجام شده‌است.[۲]
