واینلند (انگلیسی: Vineland) رمانی به نویسندگی توماس پینچن است که نخستین بار در سال ۱۹۹۰[الف] منتشر شد. این اثر از گونهٔ پسامدرنیسم است و در کالیفرنیای ایالات متحده در سال ۱۹۸۴، همزمان با دور دوم ریاستجمهوری رونالد ریگان، روایت میشود.[۶] روایت رمان با استفاده از تکنیک بازگشت به گذشته از زبان شخصیتهایی شکل میگیرد که جوانی خود را در دههٔ ۱۹۶۰ گذراندهاند. این رمان، روح آزاد و سرکش آن دوران را به تصویر میکشد و همزمان، ویژگیهای «سرکوب فاشیستی نیکسونی» و جنگ با مواد مخدر را که در تقابل با آن قرار داشتند، بررسی میکند؛ و در نهایت، لغزش و دگرگونیهای اجتماعی ایالات متحده را از دههٔ ۶۰ تا دههٔ ۸۰ میلادی تبیین مینماید.[۶][۷][۸]
اقتباس
پل توماس اندرسن بارها از علاقهٔ خود به رمان واینلند و تمایلش برای اقتباس از آن سخن گفته است.[۹][۱۰][۱۱] در اوایل سال ۲۰۲۴، اندرسن فیلمبرداری پروژهای جدید را آغاز کرد که در آن لئوناردو دیکاپریو نقش شخصیتی را ایفا میکرد که برخی از طرفداران، آن را بازآفرینی شخصیت زوید ویلر دانستند.[۱۲] پس از نمایش آزمایشی فیلم، تأیید شد که این اثر اقتباسی آزاد از رمان واینلند است، با این تفاوت که در فضای معاصر روایت میشود.[۱۳] این فیلم که یک نبرد پس از دیگری نام دارد، قرار است در سپتامبر ۲۰۲۵ اکران شود.

- 1 2 واینلند در دسامبر ۱۹۸۹، شش هفته پیش از تاریخ رسمی انتشار آن در فوریه ۱۹۹۰، در کتابفروشیها در دسترس قرار گرفت.[۱][۲] ناشر در ۱۸ دسامبر ۱۹۸۹ نسخههایی از کتاب را برای منتقدان ادبی ارسال کرد.[۳] این رمان در ۲۱ ژانویه ۱۹۹۰ وارد فهرست کتابهای پرفروش نیویورک تایمز شد[۴] که آمار آن منعکسکنندهٔ فروش تا پایان هفتهٔ منتهی به ۶ ژانویه ۱۹۹۰ بود.[۵]

I am a gigantic Pynchon fan and I’d long had this dance in my mind where I’d be thinking about doing Vineland or Mason & Dixon. But those would have been impossible tasks.
