داستان‌های تخیلی مذهبی

داستان‌های تخیلی مذهبی (انگلیسی: Pious fiction)، روایتی است که توسط نویسنده به عنوان واقعیت ارائه می‌شود، اما توسط دیگران تخیلی تلقی می‌شود، هرچند با انگیزه نوع‌دوستانه تولید شده است. این اصطلاح گاهی به‌طور ضمنی برای نشان دادن این که نویسنده روایت عمداً خوانندگان را به دلایل خودخواهانه یا فریبکارانه گمراه می‌کند، استفاده می‌شود. این اصطلاح اغلب در زمینه‌های مذهبی استفاده می‌شود و گاهی به عباراتی در متون مذهبی اشاره دارد.

بافت مذهبی

تفسیرهای تاریخی-انتقادی کتاب مقدس عبری (یعنی کتاب مقدس عبری یا پروتستانتیسم عهد عتیق) اغلب بخش‌هایی از انجیل تنخ/یهودی را داستانی متدین می‌دانند، مانند فتوحات یوشع بن نون.^[۱] و تاریخچه‌های تورات.^[۲]^[۳]^[۴] کتاب دانیال همچنین به عنوان یک داستان تخیلی مذهبی با هدف تشویق یهودیان توصیف شده است.^[۵]
رویکردهای تاریخی-انتقادی به عهد جدید، گاهی داستان‌هایی مانند ولادت عیسی، سه مغ و دیگران را به عنوان داستان‌های تخیلی و پرهیزکارانه می‌بینند.^[۶]
رابطه بین جشن مدرن کریسمس و عیسی (شخصیت تاریخی) ولادت عیسی نیز به همین صورت توصیف شده است.^[۷]^[۸]^[۹]
